As you can tell, I'm not one for updating my blog that often. Sure, I have great material to blog about and I "write" posts in my mind all day long. But, when it comes time to actually sit and write, I'm either too tired or just can't seem to find that quiet chunk of time.
But then something comes across my path that I just can't let slip by. I gotta tell you about something pretty sweet.
Remember my twin's birthday party back in February? (scroll down about half way and check out the picture of the flip-flops). It's tradition at our house to collect items to donate to those who don't have as much as we do. (We have some other friends who started the same traditions this year!) This year, my girls asked each of their guests to bring a pair of flip-flops for the kids at "M" instead of a traditional present.
And here's the mound they collected.
Fast forward 4 months.
We are so blessed to have an amazing team on the ground in Uganda working with SixtyFeet to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the imprisoned children at the various remand homes around the country. This week, our beloved team member and friend Moses sent us his report of the work that the team has been doing.
And check out the picture of him with the kids a couple of weeks ago....
Now, let me ask you a simple question.
Who do you think appreciated those birthday presents more?
